Mr John MacDonald, the host of the Emirates Litfest radio show, Talking of Books on Dubai Eye. Our students had the privilege to listen to him talk about the history of language, the power of words, and the humour of language.
Students were given a list of authors to research on and then present their findings in class. You can see one of our students, Gian, dressed as Paulo Coelho, having an interview with other students who pose as journalists, budding writers, critics, educationalists, cinema directors and script writers. All students were expected to prepare question that they in their respective roles who want to ask Paulo about. Formal speaking was also a major focus and challenge for the students.
For year 4 it was like a celebration when the students were asked to dress up as characters from the past.
This was in sync with lesson that we were doing. You name it and we had it. · Julius Caesar · Macbeth · Cleopatra · Claudius · Boudicca All!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The students spoke about the character they were dressed up as. The class was fun and the students could relate to the characters. The lesson was a good learning experience. |
